Three Years Since the Start of the War in Ukraine
Against the Imperialist Plans of Putin and Trump!
Three years after the start of the brutal Russian imperialist invasion… the heroic Ukrainian struggle is triumphing!
The despot Putin has failed to achieve any of the strategic objectives with which he launched his criminal imperial aggression!
None of his strategic goals have been fulfilled!
At the beginning of his invasion, Putin attempted to capture the Ukrainian capital, but all he achieved was a humiliating defeat in the outskirts of Kyiv, which later led to a total retreat of Russian forces from central Ukraine.
A great early victory for the Ukrainian people in arms, who rose en masse to defend their country, anticipating Ukraine’s spectacular victories that year in Kharkiv and Kherson!
With his invasion of Ukraine, Putin sought the "overthrow" of the Zelensky government, the "demilitarization" of Ukraine, and the "crushing" of the legitimate Ukrainian national identity (falsely labeled by the Kremlin criminals as "Ukrainian Nazism").
He was defeated!
Not only did the Zelensky government survive, but today (after three years of war), it maintains significant political support, with nearly 60% approval in recent polls.
This, in the context of a remarkable increase in Ukraine’s military capabilities, including advances in the production of aerial and maritime drones, as well as the development of its emerging ballistic missile industry.
Major advancements in the Ukrainian people’s military defense capabilities have manifested not only in almost daily bombings against Russian military targets and energy infrastructure but also in the humiliating defeat of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
Now, more than a third of that fleet has been sunk, forcing it to withdraw from its base in occupied Crimea.
Putin sought, through his invasion, the "withdrawal" of NATO and to secure Ukraine’s "neutrality".
He was defeated!
NATO expanded to two new countries (Finland and Sweden), multiplying its borders with Russia.
This comes at a time when the Zelensky government not only remains unwavering in its decision to join NATO or the European Union, but is also advancing its efforts to form new political-military alliances with other European countries that have been threatened for centuries by Russia’s imperial ambitions.
Never before has the anti-imperialist hatred against Russia been as strong as it is today in countries like Ukraine, Poland, Finland, and other Baltic-Nordic nations!
A sentiment of "anti-Russian hatred" as legitimate as the "anti-American" or "anti-European" hatred experienced by hundreds of millions of people in Latin America or Africa, victims of Western empires.
With his invasion of Ukraine, Putin sought to conquer the entire Donbas and reaffirm his imperial control over Crimea.
He has failed!
Putin has not yet even managed to secure full control over Donetsk and Luhansk.
This, despite the fact that the Russian army has reportedly suffered more than one million casualties, a figure several times higher than the losses suffered by the former USSR in over a decade during its failed invasion of Afghanistan.
And in the case of Crimea, although the Russian army was able to conquer Mariupol and establish (for now) a "land bridge" between Donbas and the Crimean peninsula, it has suffered a major strategic setback with the previously mentioned defeat of its fleet at the hands of Ukraine in the Black Sea.
All of this is happening while Russia has only managed to occupy —at the cost of a million casualties!— just 14% more Ukrainian territory, compared to the 5% it already controlled before 2022.
A mere 14% of Ukrainian territory conquered in what is likely one of the most disastrous military campaigns of the last century: the 2022 Russian invasion.
An imperial Russian invasion campaign that has also resulted in constant Ukrainian bombings on Russian positions and the loss of more than 600 km² in the Kursk region, which has been under Ukrainian army control for more than six months.
This, following a successful offensive in which Ukraine’s armed forces seized more than 1,500 km², an offensive that could only be stopped thanks to the humiliating military reinforcements Russia was forced to receive from the decaying "socialist" monarchy of North Korea.
All of this is happening in a context of significant geopolitical setbacks for Russia, such as the downfall of the Syrian tyrant Bashar al-Assad. This event was made possible, in part, by the growing weakening of Russia’s global influence induced by the war in Ukraine.
A weakening of Putin’s imperial regime that has also manifested internally, with an increasingly cornered economy and the outbreak of internal political-military crises, such as the 2023 Wagner rebellion—a direct consequence of Russia’s defeats in Ukraine in 2022.
A weakening of Putin’s tyrannical regime that, despite the Russian army’s success in halting Ukraine’s 2023 counteroffensive and maintaining its slow (yet gradual) advance in eastern Ukraine, continues to deepen.
A severe weakening of Putin’s imperial regime that, despite its recent victory in securing (for now) a shift in U.S. policy under the new far-right Trump administration toward a more explicitly "pro-Russian" stance, may continue to worsen in the future.
This could happen, for example, if a weakened Trump, cornered by Ukraine’s unbreakable resistance and the pressure of his European allies, is forced to make yet another shift in his foreign policy.
This time, either in the opposite direction (pro-Ukrainian) or toward some kind of "new status quo," in which the United States decides to continue arming Ukraine (or simply selling it weapons), albeit now under a "détente" narrative with Russia.
The weakness of Trump and the declining American empire has materialized in recent weeks, not only in the humiliating diplomatic defeats of the United States at the hands of Canada, Mexico, and Colombia but also in its failures against Ukraine itself.
Defeats of Trump at the hands of Ukraine, visible in Zelensky’s heroic stance of rejecting any negotiations with Russia regarding Ukraine’s fate without Ukraine’s direct presence!
Defeats of Trump at the hands of Ukraine, visible in Zelensky’s firm refusal to sign any economic agreement that does not prioritize the interests of the Ukrainian people in their struggle against Russia!
Defeats of Trump at the hands of Ukraine, visible today in the humiliating fiasco the United States suffered at the UN when attempting to pass a resolution that deliberately avoided labeling Russia as the aggressor in an unprovoked invasion!
A U.S. resolution marking the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion, supported by none other than Russia, Iran, and North Korea, which was completely overshadowed by the overwhelming majority backing for Ukraine’s original resolution at the UN General Assembly.
Defeats of Trump that, in fact, could deepen further if Ukraine manages to secure greater military support from Europe or force the United States to continue its arms shipments!
Trump’s weakness, as a reflection of the growing decline of American imperialism, could soon jeopardize Putin’s own plans to exploit Trumpist policies to his advantage.
This could happen, for example, if Ukraine manages to thwart Trump’s current attempt to subordinate it to a "Russian peace" and, as previously stated, secures the military assistance it needs from its European allies to continue its fight against Russian imperialism.
Such a scenario would allow Ukraine to either continue its current military struggle against Russian aggression or secure some form of (temporary) armistice under favorable conditions, which would already constitute a major victory on the path toward the total liberation of its territories.
